Born in Viterbo and raised in Rome, Cardenio Petrucci studied at Sapienza University and trained in industrial design at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, with a period in Copenhagen. At Arup in London, he worked on projects including the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences.

In San Francisco he founded Petrucci Design Group, then DZINE and Dsegnare, which developed the US presence of international design brands and helped shape the city’s contemporary design culture. DZINE was later acquired by Haworth.

He went on to lead creative and product strategy as VP Marketing at DFM, and served as COO and Creative Director of Elementi, expanding its presence in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Today his work runs through MC+, the design studio he co-founded with Mattia Biagi, and Officine Petrucci, the workshop he founded in Italy.
